The Sun fils the tank

17 solar panels are placed, and more to follow. With the help of the sun we now can charge one company car with solar energy. The Electric car (see picture) from Citroen was delivered in May 2011 and the First solar charging happened on September 3, 2011. About 40 more solar panels will be installed on the Warehouse roof and charging during a sunny workday becomes totally green and independent of oil. We have a long way to go still, but the first step is made.

A few Facts:
The car is a Citroen C-Zero

It has four comfortable seats and a small trunk

On one full battery charge, the car does about 150 km and has a 15km reserve (Personally tested...)

It is perfect for a 3 to 4 day commute.

The car makes it to Brussels International
Airport, where it needs to be charged for the return trip

A full tank cost about the price of one litre fuel

It takes about 200.000km to earn the additional cost of the car back

CO² Tax is the lowest possible in Belgium, but it it is not Zero. (Legislation is behind a bit...)

The Road Tax is also the lowest possible

Maintenance is expected to be a lot cheaper since the electro motor has close to no maintenance needs

A complete charge on a normal power plug takes 6 Hrs
